In case you haven't heard of Elektron, they are like the hypster-mac of electronic music instruments.  Their first big hit was the Sidstation, which is basically a revial of the 80's Commodore 64 sound engine chip (SID) rehoused in their own synth box. They have expanded their line of products since then and most of their designs are extremely popular due to their streamlined workflow and powerful-but-different features.

User "Rusty" from the Elektronauts forum has spent numerous hours developing a very extensive Octatrack software editor.  This morning he released a video teaser showing the editor at work.  The editor has the ability to save presets of most settings, making it extremely useful for managing sample banks, effects, etc...

Most Honorable DAW

Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) promiscuity is a very common thing in this day and age... I'm talking about hopping from DAW to DAW as if it was no big deal.  Having gone through Sony ACID, FruityLoops, Cakewalk (now Sonar), Reason, Cubase, and now Ableton, with a lot of overlapping and back-and-forth, definitely makes you wonder if you've ended up with the "right one".
